Dr. Yousef Yari Kamrani possesses a unique combination of an education in algae biology and phytomedicine and a decade of experience in culturing, extracting active compounds from plants and algae, a rare confluence of skills and experience that fits perfectly with AlgaKam’s mission and long-term goals. His bachelor’s and master’s studies focused on plant biology and biotechnology, including contributions to papers published in internation journals and two patents on natural products with anti-dental caries. He completed his PhD in algae biology in Japan, where he worked closely with numerous algae species including Chlamydomonas reinhardtii, Volvox carteri, Euglena gracilis, and Haematococcus pluvialis. It was during this time that his desire that his interest in developing natural products to promote human and animal health from algae.
